Colline di Rafael is a joint project of a Belgian (Flemish) family consisting of three families with a total of 6 children.
' Colline ' refers to the hilly area overgrown with olive groves and vineyards in the region of Piegaro, on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. Here we are in the heart of Italy , on the East-West axis between Perugia and Orvieto and on the North-South axis between Florence and Rome.
' Rafael' is a typical Italian name (also of a famous Italian painter), but also contains the first letters of the names of the six children.
Colline di Rafael is a paradise where couples, families, families and groups of friends spend an unforgettable holiday.

Paradise for adults and children
Everyone is welcome at Colline di Rafael, but during the school holidays there are also families with children.
We are well aware that traveling with children is not always easy. Colline di Rafael offers a concept where parents and children can have a great time . Where relaxation and culture can be alternated. Where meeting is possible, but where privacy and tranquility are also guaranteed.
The domain contains two farm buildings and is divided into 6 holiday homes. Families, with or without children, can enjoy a wonderful holiday here. There is a large communal garden (olive grove) and large swimming pool (6x14 meters), as well as ample private space and terraces .
Our ideal guests are looking for a good mix between the security of their own family in their own holiday home or on the private terrace and interaction with other guests at the pool or in the communal garden.
Our guests love culture and like to explore the art cities and 'borghi piu belli' in the area, but also enjoy the Italian sun and the swimming pool.
Our guests are of all ages. They come with or without children. But they do accept that children play outside on the domain. Although in the evening the things have to be cleaned up and peace must return. At that moment the sun sets behind the hill and it is also time for a nice glass of wine or limoncello to end a beautiful day. That is also perfectly possible on your own terrace or together with new friends in the communal garden.
Experience in Italy
We are not ready for our test. We have been traveling all over Italy for years, as children and with children.
In 2018, after previous thorough research in the different Italian regions, we decided to buy a holiday home “ Casa Trasimonte ” ( www.casatrasimonte.be ) with a view of Lake Trasimeno, just above the village of Tuoro sul Trasimeno. We provided a child-friendly construction with a swimming pool, playground, and a safe, fenced place to play. Ideal for a relaxing holiday for parents and children.
In the meantime, we received a lot of great reviews from satisfied families who spent their dream vacation in Casa Trasimonte.
A little later we also bought a house “ Villa Vera ” in the center of the nearby village of Tuoro sul Trasimeno ( www.villavera.be ). This is divided into a number of holiday homes that are ideal for people who want to be able to walk to the bakery and the butcher and who only have to cross the street to drink cappuccino or prosecco in the village square. Its central location also makes it an ideal base for further exploring both Umbria and Tuscany.
From our Italian passion we continued to explore south of Lake Trasimeno. In 2020 we found an old estate there with two authentic farm buildings and an olive grove. We gave it the name " Colline di Rafael " ( www.collinedirafael.com ). Here we create a place where our guests can spend a carefree holiday and where children can play outside.
